Lewandowski’s goal at the Spanish giants' temporary Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys stadium came in the 36th minute and marked the 97th time the Polish star striker has scored in the Champions League.
The 36-year-old Pole, FIFA's world player of the year for 2020 and 2021, is the competition’s third-highest all-time scorer, behind Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
Several other Poland internationals, among them Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zieliński, are also hoping to make their mark in this season’s Champions League.
Thirty-six teams are taking part in a total of eight rounds of fixtures in the Champions League group stage, which kicked off last month and will conclude in January.
The Champions League final will be played on May 31 next year at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern in the summer of 2022.
Meanwhile, Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny is still awaiting his debut for Barcelona after joining the Spanish club earlier this month, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
The former Arsenal and Juventus goalkeeper has been selected as the replacement for Barça's German keeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who is out for the remainder of the season with a serious knee injury.
