Poland is represented by top players such as Grandmasters Mateusz Bartel (ranked 37th), who has participated in 20 editions of the event, and Kacper Piorun (ranked 57th), a 2019 bronze medalist.
Other Polish participants include Jacek Tomczak, Szymon Gumularz, and former national coach Bartosz Soćko, along with female players Monika Soćko, Alicja Śliwicka, and Aleksandra Malcewska.
In the 2023 European Championship, held in Vrnjacka Banja, Russia's Alexey Sarana won, while Poland's Igor Janik finished 12th, with Grzegorz Nasuta and Szymon Gumularz securing spots in the World Cup.
The European Championship, held since 2000, has seen Polish players earn medals over the years, including Bartłomiej Macieja with a gold in 2002, Radosław Wojtaszek with silver in 2011 and 2018, and bronze medals by Tomasz Markowski (2000), Mateusz Bartel (2015), and Kacper Piorun (2019).
