The author mistakenly identified photographer Franciszek Kulp with another individual of the same name, who was a commander of the Volunteer Fire Department (OSP) and involved in the Holocaust.
In accordance with the settlement, Wydawnictwo Czarne committed to fully withdrawing the current edition of the book and removing the controversial chapter "How what I know changes what I see," where the incorrect identification of two different individuals with the same name and surname occurred.
Franciszek Kulpa, an amateur photographer and organist born in 1890 in Gniewczyna, residing in Kosina and later in Białobrzegi, was falsely accused by Agnieszka Pajączkowska of a terrible crime.
The reporter mistakenly linked his identity with that of another individual, born later and unrelated to him, who was the commander of the Volunteer Fire Department in Gniewczyna.
This individual's subordinates were involved in the apprehension and killing of Jews in Gniewczyna in 1942, as reported by rynek-ksiazki.pl.
