Piotr Pielaszek received the accolade in the violin category, while Krzysztof Krupa and his brother Marcin Krupa were honoured in the cello category.

Oskar Krawiecki earned the award in the double-bass category.

Pielaszek, 31, began studying cello at an early age and moved to Poznań, western Poland, at 16 to pursue violin-making studies at a music high school.

He later earned a bachelor’s degree from the Music Academy in Poznań and completed internships in France before establishing his own workshop.

Now based in Poznań, he crafts violins and violas for musicians worldwide.

His instruments have won awards at prestigious competitions, including those in Cremona, Italy, and Prague, Czech Republic.

Krzysztof and Marcin Krupa, both in their 40s, come from a family of violin makers. They graduated from the Music Academy in Poznań and continue the legacy of the Krupa family workshop, founded by their father Antoni in Poznań in 1967.

Oskar Krawiecki also studied music in Poznań. He builds double-basses and performs regularly as a bass player in classical music concerts.

The International Violin Making Competition, held alongside the annual convention of the Violin Society of America, showcased more than 500 stringed instruments from contestants around the world, all meticulously evaluated by a panel of judges.
