With its historic mining tunnels underground, and on the surface a lovely old town and a park that resembles the Shire out of Tolkien's Hobbit - Tarnowskie Góry is proud to be new on the UNESCO list. Grzegorz Rudnicki from the Association of Lovers of Tarnowskie Góry Land gives us a glimpse of local history and traditions, and of the hard work that accompanies a successful UNESCO application.
