Broadcast live by Polish Radio 1 and the polskieradio.pl website from 7 p.m. on May 29, the event will bring together Ukraine-themed performances from diverse acts.
The list of performers set to take stage at the Polish Radio’s Lutosławski Studio in Warsaw features the Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, the Kyiv Piano Duo, and Krajka, a Ukrainian folk ensemble from the southeastern Polish city of Przemyśl that includes refugee children, organisers said.
Pianist Dmytro Tavanets, who will perform during the evening concert, thanked Poles for helping Ukrainians.
„I think it’s very important to have this kind of events, and we are happy to be here […] We’d like to thank Polish Radio, the Polish people and Poland as a country, supporting so much our country in these really difficult times,” Tavanets said.
The concert is a follow-up to a charity auction, which the Polish Radio held on Thursday for ill children from Ukraine, raising a total of PLN 54,300 (EUR 11,800) for the cause.
Proceeds from the fundraiser, which was held on Poland's Mother’s Day, will benefit the National Children’s Hospital in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv.
