This annual event stands as the largest showcase of US independent cinema in Poland.

This year's festival boasts a diverse selection of 126 productions, including 94 full-length features and 32 shorts. Of these, 63 will be making their first appearances in Poland, and 15 are set for their European premieres.

The event will open on Tuesday with Kristoffer Borgli's Dream Scenario, starring Nicholas Cage.

The schedule of this edition of AFF includes movies that have garnered recognition at prestigious international events and are premiering in Poland, such as Sofia Coppola's Priscilla, William Oldroyd's Eileen, Alexander Payne's The Holdovers and Taika Waititi's Next Goal Wins.

Furthermore, retrospectives of works by Robert Altman, Camille Billops and James V. Hatch will also be held.

In keeping with an AFF tradition, the bill features competition sections, which this year comprise 16 titles offering a glimpse into emerging trends and young talents in American cinema. Among the movies vying for prizes are The Sweet East by Sean Price Williams, which premiered at Cannes or Raven Jackson’s All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt, previously showcased at Sundance.

On top of the movies, the American Docs section will feature eight documentaries, offering various perspectives on America. The documentaries will also be shown in the Special Docs section.

The event’s in-person component will wrap up on November 12, with selected festival films available for online viewing for an additional week, until November 19.
