Orliński is to appear at a late night concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall on July 23, partnered by the instrumentalists of Il Pomo d’Oro.
The programme features music by early Baroque composers, including Monteverdi, Marini, Caccini, Frescobaldi, Cavalli, Moratelli, Sartorio, Netti, Strozzi, and Pollarolo - alongside 'Tamburetta' by Polish composer Adam Jarzębski (1590 - 1649).
The BBC Proms describes Orliński on its website as a “multi-skilled, golden-voiced countertenor”.
At 33, Orliński is among the world’s most sought-after singers. This month he stars as Lucida in Vivaldi’s 'L’Olimpiade' at the Theatre des Champs-Elysses in Paris. Meanwhile, on August 3 he is to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival with the same programme as at the BBC Proms.
