The New York Times pointed out that, in recent years, political influence has pushed Poland's cultural institutions toward more conservative values, marking a clear shift. In contrast to this trend, MSN aims to offer a neutral, balanced space for contemporary art while navigating these challenges.
As Alex Marshall, European culture reporter for the New York Times, noted, "Poland's culture world had a right-wing revolution. Now, with some clamoring to reverse that, a major new art museum has decided to instead aim for the middle and hope to not upset anyone."
As previously reported by Radio Poland, the museum's first major exhibition, Unstable Exhibition. 4 x Collections, features works by Polish artists like Edward Dwurnik, Wilhelm Sasnal, and Zbigniew Libera.
Among the pieces is Daniel Rycharski’s Strachy, which features colorful, hanging crosses dressed in human clothing, referencing scarecrows while exploring themes of nonconforming identities.

The exhibition runs through October 5, 2025.
