The 33-year-old produced jumps of 132.5 and 127.5 meters to finish behind Norway's Halvor Egner Granerud, who leads this season’s World Cup standings, and Germany's Markus Eisenbichler.
The second-highest placed Pole, Kamil Stoch, was seventh, ahead of countryman Dawid Kubacki.
Poland's Stoch on Saturday came in runner-up in the weekend's first event at Engelberg, or the Hill of Angels.
Last weekend, Team Poland, comprised of Żyła, Stoch, Kubacki and Andrzej Stękała, took the bronze at the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica, Slovenia.
Last month, Poland took third place in the World Cup season-opening team competition in their home country, finishing behind winners Germany and runners-up Austria.
The 2020/2021 ski-jumping World Cup circuit features a total of 35 competitions, including six team events, in various countries.
The schedule includes the prestigious Four Hills Tournament in Germany and Austria and the Raw Air event in Norway.
Czech Michal Doležal last year took over as the head coach of the Polish men’s ski-jumping team to replace Austrian Stefan Horngacher.
