As the Polish economy outperforms many of its European peers, agencies recruiting workers for temporary jobs in the Netherlands are reporting a decreasing number of applicants from Poland, Polish state news agency PAP has reported.

It cited a Dutch market analyst, Suzanne Steegman, as saying that agencies looking for workers for temporary jobs in sectors such as agriculture, forestry and fishing in the Netherlands "have fewer and fewer workers from Poland."

"Improving employment conditions in Poland mean that job seekers have higher requirements" in terms of pay and working conditions, Steegman said, as quoted by the Polish news agency.

She added that many low-skilled jobs previously occupied by Poles are now being increasingly filled by seasonal workers from Bulgaria and Hungary.
