Under a new Council of Ministers decree, as of January 2023 the minimum salary will total PLN 3,490 (EUR 739) and the minimum hourly rate - PLN 22.80 (EUR 4.83), Polish state news agency PAP reported.
There will be a further raise from July 2023, with the minimum salary reaching PLN 3,600 (EUR 763) and the minimum hourly rate - PLN 23.50 (EUR 4.98).
Announcing the decision, Poland’s Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters: “We want employees to earn as much as possible, and the Polish economy to thrive and be able to cope as well as possible with difficult circumstances.”
Meanwhile, the Family and Social Policy Minister Marlena Maląg said that the increase in the minimum salary and the minimum hourly rate would benefit “more than three million people,” the PAP news agency reported.
