Poland eyes tapping into Pacific Ocean plot: audio report

Few Poles know that their country owns a plot in the Pacific Ocean, some 800 km southeast of Hawaii toward Mexico.

After 1991 saw the collapse of Comecon, an economic organization that comprised the countries of the Eastern bloc under the leadership of the Soviet Union, the member countries, including Poland, inherited a lucrative underwater plot.

Polish researchers now claim the country may soon be able to tap into a vast well of resources worth billions of dollars.
