Jacek Sasin made the declaration at the Congress 590 business conference in Nadarzyn near Warsaw on Wednesday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

'Enormous role' of Polish state firms in rebuilding Ukraine

Sasin, who is also minister for state assets, said: “I see an enormous role for Poland’s state companies in this great endeavour of rebuilding Ukraine.”

He added that “work is advanced on a collective report” to detail how Polish state firms could help in the postwar reconstruction of Ukraine.

Polish, Ukrainian deputy PMs to discuss details

Sasin told the conference he would meet his Ukrainian counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, in July to discuss the issue.

“We’ll have an opportunity to sum up our actions and present our offer for the reconstruction to the Ukrainian government,” Sasin said.

Last month, he and Svyrydenko held talks at the Polish-Ukrainian Energy Forum in Warsaw.

Sasin said at the time that Polish state firms would draw up a collective proposal outlining their potential role in the rebuilding of Ukraine.

Also last month, Sasin announced that Poland was interested in hosting a planned new United Nations office for Ukraine's reconstruction.

Wednesday was day 119 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
