Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 218,500: report

Around 218,500 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February last year, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 3,965 tanks, 7,683 armored combat vehicles and 3,812 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 590 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 606 multiple launch rocket systems, 364 air defense systems, 314 warplanes, 301 helicopters, 18 warships, and 3,357 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 478 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
