Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 228,340: report

Around 228,340 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February last year, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 4,041 tanks, 7,863 armored combat vehicles and 4,127 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 560 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 630 multiple launch rocket systems, 389 air defense systems, 315 warplanes, 308 helicopters, 18 warships, and 3,519 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military campaign in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 492 of Russias war on Ukraine.
