Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, Oxfordshire is the birthplace of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

The discussions among European leaders focused on providing continued support for Ukraine in its defense against the Russian invasion, along with addressing shared challenges in security, democracy strengthening, and combating illegal migration, as well as coordinating efforts concerning Moldova.

Hosted by Starmer, the summit offered an opportunity for the British government to reset international relations following years of Brexit-related tensions with the EU.

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, who on Wednesday accepted the 2024 Chatham House Prize on behalf of Tusk, also attended the summit and held discussions with his British counterpart David Lammy.

Other participants included French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, European Council President Charles Michel, and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.

Established in 2022 as an initiative by France's Macron in response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the European Political Community serves as a platform for dialogue and cooperation among EU member states, as well as Turkey, Albania, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

The European Political Community holds meetings twice a year, with recent summits in Spain, Moldova and the Czech Republic.
