China has chosen not to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine but has expressed its support for efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

According to the Ukrainian foreign ministry, the discussions will focus on strategies to stop Russian aggression and assess China's potential role in securing a sustainable and equitable peace.

The planned talks with Kuleba have been confirmed by Beijing, with a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry stating that the visit was arranged at the initiative of China’s foreign minister.

China did not attend the Global Peace Summit on Ukraine in Switzerland last month, arguing that the conference did not align with its expectations, which include the participation of both Russia and Ukraine.
