At least 581 children killed, 1,649 wounded by Russians in Ukraine: report
At least 581 children have been killed and 1,649 others injured in Ukraine since Russian forces invaded the country in February 2022, news outlets reported on Tuesday, citing data from the Ukrainian Prosecutor-General’s Office.

By the morning of October 22, 2024, at least 2,230 children had been killed or injured in Ukraine as a result of Russia's war of aggression, the Ukrainian Prosecutor-General’s Office said in a statement, as quoted by state news agency Ukrinform.
On Tuesday, a 14-year-old girl died in the northeastern city of Sumy as a result of a Russian strike, according to the ukrinform.net website.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.
Tuesday is day 972 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
