Ukraine downs 47 Russian drones in overnight attack

Ukrainian air defence forces shot down 47 Russian combat drones overnight, while 27 others were intercepted or neutralized without reaching their targets, the Ukrainian air force reported on Saturday.

According to preliminary information, no casualties were reported, but debris from the downed drones caused damage to commercial buildings, private homes, and vehicles across seven regions, including Kyiv.

The strikes began late Friday evening and continued into the early hours of Saturday.

The attacks represent a continued escalation in Russia’s use of unmanned aerial vehicles as part of its broader military campaign in Ukraine.
