Speaking in an interview ahead of an international summit on Ukraine in Paris, Zelensky said he hoped the United States would "stand strong" in the face of Russian demands to lift sanctions as a condition for a ceasefire.
He also said that he was "very grateful" for US support but feared some top local officials were "under the influence of Russian narratives."
The interview took place shortly after the Ukrainian president met with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower lit in the colours of the Ukrainian flag in his honour.
Zelensky shared his insights on the eve of Thursday's international summit on Ukraine hosted by the French government.
