Polish president OKs plan to build database of job offers for Ukraine refugees

Poland’s president has greenlighted a plan to create an extensive digital database of job opportunities for refugees from Ukraine, his aides have announced.

The project aims to match Polish employers with Ukrainian job seekers amid an influx of refugees fleeing Russia's invasion of Ukraine, according to government officials.

President Andrzej Duda signed the legislation into effect after it was fast-tracked through parliament and overwhelmingly approved by both houses of the country's bicameral legislature, state news agency PAP reported.

Under the law, a new online tool and mobile app will be offered to make it easier for Ukrainian refugees to find jobs in Poland, officials told reporters.

The project is being overseen by a team led by Janusz Cieszyński, an aide to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Monday is day 89 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.

Poland has taken in more than 3.55 million refugees fleeing Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the Polish Border Guard agency reported on Monday.
