Polish, Tanzanian FMs discuss Ukraine, deeper ties

Poland’s foreign minister met with his Tanzanian counterpart in Warsaw on Tuesday to discuss Russia's war against Ukraine and a range of bilateral issues, officials said.

Poland's Zbigniew Rau and Tanzania's Stergomena Tax spoke about Russia's aggression against Ukraine and ways to enhance bilateral relations, according to the Polish foreign ministry.

The two top diplomats explored opportunities for further cooperation in areas including agriculture and water management as well as development aid, the Polish foreign ministry said.

Rau and Tax also discussed political relations and economic cooperation, according to the Polish foreign ministry.

Rau told reporters after the meeting that the two countries were ready to work together in a number of new areas.

"The spectrum of our relations is much wider and includes mining, water resource management, digitisation of urban services and cybersecurity," Rau said at a joint news conference with Tax.

The Polish foreign ministry described Tanzania as "one of Poland's most important partners in sub-Saharan Africa."
