While few details of the talks were immediately available, presidential aide Wojciech Kolarski told public broadcaster Polish Radio that "Andrzej Duda's stance has remained unchanged since February 23, 2022, when the Polish president visited Kyiv together with his Lithuanian counterpart Gitanas Nausėda to show that Ukraine is not alone."

Kolarski said: "A free and independent Ukraine is in Poland's national interests."

Later in the day, Canada's Trudeau was scheduled to hold talks with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Trudeau arrived in Warsaw from Kyiv, where he attended ceremonies on Saturday to mark the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

During meetings with top Ukrainian officials, Trudeau said that Canada’s support for Ukraine remains unwavering as the war enters its third year.

"As the people of Ukraine bravely fight for their sovereignty, their territory, their language, their culture, and their democracy, I want them to know this: We are with you – and we’ll continue to make sure you have the military, financial, and humanitarian support you need," he said.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Monday is day 733 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
