"In the early hours of June 18, 2024, the enemy launched 10 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type from the Primorsk-Akhtarsk region of the Russian Federation," the Ukrainian air force said on Tuesday morning.
It added that Ukrainian "mobile fire groups" and "anti-aircraft warfare units" shot down all 10 drones.
Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said on the Telegram messaging app that the drones were destroyed over the southern Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
An air raid alert was announced in these two regions after the Ukrainian air force "spotted a group of incoming kamikaze drones," state news agency Ukrinform reported.
Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone attack caused an oil depot fire in the town of Azov in Russia's southern Rostov region early on Tuesday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.
Tuesday is day 846 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
