He urged that Russia must be compelled to cease its aggression through concrete actions rather than negotiations.
"We have information that Russia wants to attack three of our nuclear power plants. We have evidence of this," Zelenskyy said during a Security Council debate on the war in Ukraine.
While he did not provide specific details, the Ukrainian president accused Moscow of aiming to cause blackouts and deprive millions of Ukrainians of electricity and heating during the upcoming winter months.
He emphasized that Russia consistently lies about its actions in Ukraine because it cannot justify them. "How else can it explain why its missiles are found in the airspace of Poland, Romania, or Moldova?" Zelenskyy questioned.
The Ukrainian leader argued that the war cannot be ended through talks alone but requires decisive actions. "Russia can only be forced into peace," he declared.
