Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 675,800: report

Around 675,800 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 9,027 tanks, 18,053 armoured fighting vehicles and 19,533 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,530 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,232 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), 978 air defence systems, 369 warplanes, 329 helicopters, 28 warships, and 17,152 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 968 of Russias war on Ukraine.
