The Ukrainian president stated that “everyone is united on the main issue” and stressed that true peace requires “real security guarantees.” His latest message on social media came after Donald Trump told him to “make a deal with Russia or we are out,” a remark widely interpreted as a threat to cut U.S. aid.
Despite the tense exchange at the White House, Zelensky made it clear that Ukraine remains deeply grateful for American support, saying, “There has not been a day when we haven’t felt gratitude.”
The Ukrainian leader highlighted the critical role the U.S. has played in preserving Ukraine’s independence, linking the country’s resilience to international assistance.
However, Zelensky also pushed back against the idea of an indefinite war, stating, “What we need is peace, not endless war.” His response reflects a diplomatic effort to reassure allies while emphasizing the need for lasting peace on Ukraine’s terms.
On Sunday, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with King Charles before attending a security and defense summit in London. Following these events, he stated that Ukraine feels strong support from Europe and stressed the need to build a solid foundation for cooperation with the U.S. to achieve lasting peace and security.
