Prime Minister Tusk pledged that the government will continue to firmly uphold the rule of law despite any challenges.

He highlighted that Poland's accountability measures for abuse of power are the most extensive in Europe in decades, underscoring the government's dedication to high legal standards.

Tusk also addressed President Andrzej Duda's recent comments regarding access to the files of Russian spy Paweł Rubcow.

President Duda had suggested that Polish services might be cooperating with Russian ones.

Donald Tusk criticized these remarks as unwise and harmful, noting that they negatively impact Poland’s international standing during the ongoing war and the construction of the “Eastern Shield” defense.

PM Tusk condemns Duda's comments on Polish-Russian collaboration as detrimental

Donald Tusk stated that Andrzej Duda’s comments, made during a press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, are damaging to Poland’s interests and security.

He pointed out that the disclosure of investigation files to Rubcow was legally required and did not include any state secrets.

Tusk also responded to Duda’s accusations of special services cooperation under his government, asserting that such insinuations are not only inappropriate but also false.

He noted that the National Prosecutor’s Office under the Law and Justice party had provided access to files in similar espionage cases 12 times in the same manner as with Rubcow.

"The information disclosed was not related to state secrets and posed no threat to national security," Tusk emphasized.

Polish Prime Minister criticized President Duda’s remarks as foolish and extremely damaging, highlighting that there are precisely 333 days remaining in Duda’s presidency.
