Of the new cases confirmed on Sunday, 3,839 were in the southern coal mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 3,564 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Sunday, at 2,636.
Amid concern that cases could surge if Poles meet with relatives and friends during the Easter period, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has called on people to stay at home and spend time only with their immediate family.
Conservative leader believes 'plague will be over' in a few months
However, Jarosław Kaczyński, the head of Poland's ruling conservative Law and Justice party, said he believes that the epidemic will be over in a few months.
"We are dealing with a plague here," he said. "But I firmly believe that the optimists among the doctors are right, because they know the situation best, and that the plague will be over in a few months."
Last Thursday, Poland confirmed 621 deaths and a record 35,251 new coronavirus infections nationwide.
On November 25, the country reported its highest daily toll of 674 deaths related to the coronavirus.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
