“History is happening in Ukraine,” Sikorski said during their joint press conference.

He added that Ukraine's ongoing fight against Russia's invasion is at the center of global attention and shaping the future of Europe.

Sikorski told reporters that an upcoming meeting of the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council will involve critical discussions about the bloc's global role.

“What we do – or fail to do – at this Council meeting could determine the EU’s future credibility and its role as a strategic player,” Sikorski said.

He highlighted Europe’s responsibility not only to its citizens, but also to its neighbors and future generations.

The Polish foreign minister called for efforts to ensure a "just" resolution of the Ukraine conflict, emphasizing the need to uphold international law and the principle that borders in Europe cannot be redrawn by force.

“If these principles are abandoned – whether through action or inaction – the future looks grim,” Sikorski warned.
