Citing "people familiar with the plan", the Wall Street Journal has reported that Xi Jinping is planning a visit to Russia.
China's role in the war remains deeply ambiguous. On the one hand, Wang Yi, China’s top foreign-policy official, has said China is ready to cooperate with Russia "to defend both countries' national territories" - words which must sound ominous to Taiwan. Furthermore, this week Antony Blinken said China is considering sending military support to Russia.
On the other hand, China's official position is to push for peace talks.
