Nearly 250 exhibitors to show wares at Polish defence fair next month

Almost 250 exhibitors from various countries are expected to show their wares at a defence fair in the south-central Polish city of Kielce next month.

The annual exhibition, which is scheduled for September 7 to 10, will feature military equipment displayed by exhibitors from countries including Britain, Germany, Norway, Italy and Ukraine.

The American-produced M1A2 Abrams tank will take centre stage, according to organizers.

Poland plans to buy 250 Abrams tanks from the United States as part of a multibillion deal with Washington, officials announced last month.

First held in 1993, the International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce is now in its 29th year. It is billed as one of the largest events of its kind in the world.
