The case involves agreements made during Jacek Kurski’s tenure as TVP’s president, a period when the broadcaster reportedly had strong backing from the PiS government.
Acting on instructions from the District Prosecutor's Office in Krosno, the CBA is securing documents related to sports broadcasting deals.
Prosecutors allege that these contracts resulted in TVP receiving underpaid revenues, leading to potential losses of at least 360 million PLN (approximately 82.8 million EUR).
Kurski has denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the deals adhered to market standards, and has announced plans to sue Gazeta Wyborcza for its reporting on the matter.
