Adam Glapiński told reporters on Wednesday that he expected a slight slowdown at the beginning of 2020, and an increase in inflation which should fall mid-year.
Glapiński said he expected Polish GDP to grow 4.3 percent this year.
He noted this was less than in previous forecasts, but added that compared to the European and global economies such a result would be "excellent".
Glapiński was speaking after the central bank's rate-setting Monetary Policy Council on Wednesday left interest rates unchanged.
Poland's government last month approved a balanced budget for 2020 that expects the economy to grow 3.7 percent, with inflation targeted at 2.5 percent.
The Polish economy grew 4.5 percent in the second quarter of this year, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in August in a final estimate.
