There were around 811,500 people without jobs across the nation at the end of July, down by 6,500 from a month earlier, according to the Polish labour ministry.
The state-run Statistics Poland agency (GUS) reported last month that the Polish jobless rate had dropped to 4.9 percent in June, from 5.1 percent in May.
Meanwhile, the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, estimated at the start of this month that unemployment in Poland was a modest 2.7 percent in June, the second-lowest rate in the 27-nation European Union.
