The reading was higher than forecast by analysts, who had expected an increase of 2.6 percent, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in February was 0.7 percent higher than in January, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production went up by 1.1 percent in year-on-year terms in February, while decreasing 0.1 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office reported.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production increased by 0.6 percent in Poland in January compared with the same month last year.
