A total of about 36,000 participants in the World Scout Jamboree, gathered near the city of Buan, were set to be evacuated by buses to other campsites.
Poland's Assistant Scoutmaster Olga Jankuszew has described the atmosphere in the Polish group as "good."
She told public broadcaster Polish Radio: “The scouts are calm and happy that the event will continue in other venues. They packed their rucksacks last night so that they could be ready to get on to the buses as soon as they arrive. We are going to be accommodated in two student halls of residence in Joenju and Iksan.”
Typhoon Khanun, which has already wreaked havoc in southern Japan, is expected to hit southern parts of South Korea on Thursday.
The 25th World Scout Jamboree, which began a week ago, is due to run until Saturday.
Polish President Andrzej Duda has cancelled plans to attend the closing ceremony due to the typhoon.
The next World Scout Jamboree will be held in Poland in 2027.
