Growth in Polish tourism: new visitor stats revealed

The number of tourists in Poland reached 4.75 million in August, up from 4.2 million during the same month last year, the country's statistics office has reported.

According to the latest data, from January to August, the total number of tourists reached 26.06 million, compared to 24.69 million during the same period in 2023.

In August alone, the number of foreign tourists was 967,150, up from 791,720 in August last year.

For the January to August period, the total number of foreign tourists was 5.18 million, an increase from 4.76 million in the same timeframe in 2023.

The state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) office reported a 6.4 percent increase in border traffic to and from Poland in 2023 compared to 2022.

In 2023, there were 22.1 million border checks at the EU's external land borders with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, marking a 5.3 percent increase compared to 2022.
