The case took place in Wrocław, located in southwestern Poland, and came to light after a complaint from one patient, prompting prosecutors to take action.

According to the news outlet Onet, two paramedics reportedly selected "only young, attractive women" for these examinations, despite having no medical justification for conducting gynecological procedures.

They performed palpation exams, which are used to assess the condition of organs or tissues by touch, by inserting fingers into women's vaginas, despite not being authorized to do so.

In Poland, paramedics responding to emergencies are permitted only to take medical history and, in cases of gynecological issues like bleeding, are required to transport patients to a hospital and advise them to consult a gynecologist.

The only exception to this rule is assisting in emergency childbirth.

The Wrocław District Prosecutor's Office has requested full documentation from the Emergency Medical Services to proceed with their investigation and determine further actions.
