During a promotional event at Polish Radio’s Warsaw headquarters on Sunday, Kornhauser-Duda submitted two items of her own to the broadcaster’s annual Choinki Jedynki fundraiser, which is now in its 22nd year.
"I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who is involved in this charitable, noble and much-needed initiative," said Agata Kornhauser-Duda, who has been supporting the fundraiser for many years, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
"This annual tradition brings a lot of joy to everyone who takes part in it because it puts us in the Christmas spirit in such a unique way," the Polish first lady added.
Polish Radio CEO Agnieszka Kamińska said: "I would like to thank everyone for being here with us. Please be generous and open your hearts."
Funds raised through the Choinki Jedynki drive will go toward two charitable foundations, including one run by well-known actress Anna Dymna and called Mimo Wszystko (In Spite of Everything).
The fundraiser includes an auction of artworks created by children about Christmas.
