Poland’s Klemens Murańka tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.
The Polish team will appeal against the decision banning them from Tuesday’s competition, public broadcaster Polish Radio reported.
"It is not known yet what the situation will be in further competitions" in the series, said Adam Małysz, a former star jumper and now director of ski jumping for the Polish Ski Association.
Murańka wrote on social media that he was “so far without symptoms.”
Exclusion from the Oberstdorf event virtually kills off Poland’s chances of success in the Four Hills Tournament, in which Dawid Kubacki was hoping to defend his title, according to Polish Radio.
Qualifiers in Oberstdorf are due to start on Monday at 4.30pm, with an individual competition scheduled for Tuesday.
Apart from Murańka, the seven-man Polish team for the tournament included Kubacki, Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, Andrzej Stękała, Aleksander Zniszczoł and Maciej Kot.
The Four Hills Tournament, which is part of the ski-jumping World Cup circuit, features a series of four competitions taking place in Germany and Austria every year.
In January, Kubacki became the third Polish ski jumper to claim the overall Four Hills Tournament title after soaring to victory in the final stage of the prestigious annual series in Bischofshofen, Austria.
