Among these shining stars is Poland's very own sprint sensation, Ewa Swoboda.
According to research, girls who participate in sports are more confident about pursuing their dream careers, rate their skills higher, and aspire to be leaders. With this in mind, the Barbie brand has singled out these incredible women to show that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible.
Ewa Swoboda, a dynamo on the track, is celebrated for her numerous achievements, including being the indoor world vice-champion in the 60 meters and a medalist in the European Championships for the 60 and 100 meters. And now, she has her very own Barbie doll!
The Ewa Swoboda doll is dressed in a sporty PUMA outfit—a light purple ensemble with matching shorts and top, complemented by bright orange shoes.
This outfit pays homage to what Ewa wore when she shattered the 11-second barrier in the 100-meter run at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Poland’s Chorzów in 2023, marking her as one of the fastest women in Polish history.
"Being chosen by Barbie as a Role Model is a great honor and a great distinction for me. I want my story to show that it's always worth being yourself. You don't have to meet anyone's expectations or fit into an imposed framework to achieve your goals. Each of us has the right to express ourselves in our own way," Swoboda said.
Joining Ewa in this exclusive club are:
- Venus Williams (USA), tennis,
- Christine Sinclair (Canada), soccer,
- Mary Fowler (Australia), soccer,
- Estelle Mossely (France), boxing,
- Alexa Moreno (Mexico), gymnastics,
- Rebecca Andrade (Brazil), gymnastics,
