Poles set to vie for medals at Nordic world ski champs in Germany

Twenty-three Polish athletes are gearing up to compete in the 2021 Nordic World Ski Championships, which begin in Oberstdorf, Germany on Wednesday.

Team Poland includes 11 ski jumpers, both men and women, 10 cross-country skiers, and two Nordic combined competitors.

The Polish ski-jumping contingent is led by three-time Olympic champion Kamil Stoch and reigning normal-hill world champion Dawid Kubacki, while the cross-country skiing squad includes under-23 world champions Izabela Marcisz and Monika Skinder.

The 42nd Nordic World Ski Championships will be held by the International Ski Federation in Oberstdorf from February 24 to March 7.

The Swiss-based International Ski Federation, also known as Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS), is the world's governing body for winter sports.

Poland won two medals, gold and silver, when the championships were held in Seefeld, Austria, two years ago.
