Up next for the 22-year-old Pole at the hard-court tournament in Beijing is France's Varvara Gracheva.
The 2023 China Open runs until Sunday.
Świątek last month lost her world No. 1 spot to Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka after spending 75 weeks on top of the world rankings.
