The 26-year-old Pole, who is ranked world No. 45 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), defeated Lina Glushko of Israel 6-7, 6-3, 6-1 in the second round in Monterrey, Mexico on Thursday.

The ninth-seeded Pole will now play American Emma Navarro for a place in the Monterrey last four.

The Monterrey Open, which runs until Saturday, is the final warm-up for the Polish player before US Open in New York.

Fręch last month reached the final of the Prague Open clay-court tournament in the Czech Republic, where she was overpowered 2-6, 1-6 by countrywoman Magda Linette.

The championship match in Prague marked Fręch's maiden WTA singles final.

The 2024 US Open begins on August 26.
