During the Cannes Film Festival where the announcement of Dariusz Jabłoński's presidency was announced, the new head of the EPC told reporters that the incoming team’s focus would be on protecting independent producers, big or small “especially in light of more and more illiberal governments taking power,” according to British film magazine Screen Daily.

IP retention, data transparency from streaming services, and protection against copyright infringement by AI would also top the team’s agenda, Jabłoński added.

Dariusz Jabłoński is a Polish film director and producer, president of his own production company, Apple Film Productions, and one of the leading independent producers in Poland. He is also the president of the Polish Film Academy, recently elected for another term.

The European Producers Club is Europe's most influential association of producers, gathering since 1993, influential independent film and TV drama producers from all over Europe, and acting as a network, a think tank, and a lobby.

Previously a vice-president of the EPC, Jablonski takes over from Gudny Hummelvoll who has held the post since 2020.
