The family drama revolves around two sisters grieving the loss of their mother as their estranged father reappears in their lives after a long absence.

Sentimental Value stars Renate Reinsve, who won the best actress award at Cannes for her role in Trier’s Oscar-nominated 2021 film The Worst Person of the World.

This marks another significant international project for Rani, who previously scored The Summer Book, a Charlie McDowell-directed adaptation of Tove Jansson's same-titled novel about love, family and nature. The UK-US-Finnish co-production premiered last month at the London Film Festival.

Rani, 34, is a pianist, composer and singer who studied piano at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. She is renowned for her innovative fusion of jazz, classical, house music, electronics and vocals.

Her achievements include multiple Fryderyk Awards, Poland's top honours in the recording industry.

Rani has released four solo albums, with her latest, Ghosts, set to be promoted on a European tour next spring.

The tour will feature performances at prestigious venues, including the Berlin Philharmonic, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Barbican Hall in London, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
