The annual History Book Fair in the Polish capital, now in its 32nd year, features publications from dozens of exhibitors.
Visitors can buy books from publishers across Poland and beyond, including neighbouring Belarus, according to organizers.
The four-day event offers attractions such as meetings with writers, book launches and panel discussions.
A number of renowned writers and historians are expected to attend the exhibition, the dzieje.pl history website reported.
The website, run by Polish state news agency PAP, is a media partner of the event, which runs until Sunday at Warsaw's Royal Castle.
