"Odesa-Warsaw: Rebirth" is the motto of the concert in Warsaw.

According to organizers, "the event is a reminder that the Ukrainian people carry on their struggle, a struggle that seems to be more difficult than at any time in the past."

The concert, another in the orchestra’s ‘Solidarity with Ukraine’ series, features Ukrainian pianist Alexey Botvinov, founder of the Odessa Classics International Music Festival, in the Double Concerto for Violin, Piano, String Orchestra and Two Percussionists by Tan Dun, a Chinese-born American composer.

Commissioned by the Odesa Classics Festival, the work was premiered there, with Botvinov and violinist Daniel Hope.

In Warsaw, Botvinov will be joined by Polish violinist Anna Maria Staśkiewicz.

The programme of the concert also includes Melody by Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryk (1938-2020) and the Rebirth Symphony by Polish composer Mieczysław Karłowicz (1876-1909).

The Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw will be conducted by its music director Michał Klauza.

The concert is held with support from the Warsaw-based Ukraiński Dom (Ukrainian House) Foundation.

Founded in 2002, it aims to assist and support the Ukrainian community in Poland through a wide range of activities covering education, culture and social integration.
